How long do uPVC windows last?
A quality A-rated uPVC window lasts 25–35 years. Hardware (handles, hinges, locks) typically needs servicing or replacing at 15–20 years. Coastal exposure shortens that — we fit marine-grade hardware as standard for properties within a mile of the coast.
Do uPVC windows yellow or fade?
Cheap uPVC from the 1990s often did, especially on south-facing aspects. Modern profiles (Deceuninck, Rehau, Veka) are UV-stabilised and hold their colour for 20+ years. If your existing frames have gone chalky, our spraying service can refresh them in any RAL.
What colours can I get?
Any RAL colour. Standard stocked options include white, anthracite grey, black, cream, chartwell green and rosewood/oak woodgrain effects. Bespoke colours add roughly 4–6 weeks to lead time.
Are uPVC windows secure?
All our uPVC windows are fitted with multi-point locking, internally beaded sealed units and Secured by Design hardware. Insurers in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset accept them as standard.
How much do uPVC windows cost in the South West?
Typical A-rated casements run £550–£900 per opening fitted. A full 8–12 window replacement on a 3-bed semi usually quotes between £4,800 and £8,500 fully fitted — every quote itemised in writing.
What's the lead time?

White is still the most common uPVC finish, but black, anthracite grey, cream, green and woodgrain effects are all available on new frames. Black uPVC windows suit modern render and contrasting brick, while woodgrain foils give a softer, timber-effect look on older houses. If you already have sound white frames, painted uPVC windows are another route: our on-site spraying changes the colour without replacement.

Frames, locks and hardware
A uPVC window frame is a multi-chambered profile, often steel-reinforced, with a sealed unit glazed into it. Security comes from the locking mechanism and handles as much as the frame: multi-point locks engage at several points around the sash when the handle is turned. Worn hinges and handles are among the most common uPVC faults, and they can often be replaced without changing the whole window.

Many people replace windows and doors at the same time so the colour and style match. If the door is still sound, uPVC door spraying can bring it into line with new or sprayed windows instead.

Cheap uPVC windows: what to check
A low price can be a fair deal or a sign that the specification has been cut. Compare the glass, the spacer bars, the hardware and what the fitting includes, opening by opening. Cheaper windows that need new seals or hinges within a few years are rarely the bargain they seemed.

Yes, with the right coating. We spray uPVC windows on site using a 2-pack coating in any RAL colour, which bonds to the frame rather than sitting on top like ordinary paint.
Can I get black uPVC windows?
Yes. Black and anthracite grey are both available on new uPVC frames, and existing white frames can be sprayed black on site.
